DANCYVILLE MALE ACADEMY
The attention of the public is respectfully invited to the card of this institution to be
found in another column of our paper. Our long and intimate acquaintance with its worthy
and eminent principal, Rev. Mr. Gamewell, enables us to speak confidently both of his
qualifications as a teacher and his qualities as a gentleman.
A graduate, with the highest honors, of one of the first institutions in the Union, he
unites with pre-eminent abilities, these noble qualities of the heart which peculiarly fit
him for the position he occupiesthat of instructing and maturing the youthful mind.
We congratulate the Trustees in their good fortune in having been able to procure the
services of a gentleman under whose administration the Academy cannot fail to prosper.

The Academy building is a large and handsome edifice, beautifully situated just out of the
village on the North. The community in and about Dancyville, is one of high moral tone,
and of more than ordinary intelligence and culture. The health of the neighborhood is
unsurpassed by that of any region in the West. It is hoped that these inducements will
attract extensive and liberal patronage.
By order of the Board. Nov18 wtd JOHN M. RAWLINS, Sec'y.
