The Fayette Falcon Wednesday, May 30, 2012 Ella "Boo Boo" Alexander 1928-2012 Ella Elizabeth "Boo Boo" Alexander resident of the Hickory Withe Community and retired seamstress, died Tuesday morning, May 22, 2012 at her residence. She was 83 years of age and died following an extended illness. Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Alexander were conducted at 2 P.M., Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel in Oakland, with Bro. Gary Stafford of the First Baptist Church in Millington officiating. Interment followed in the Taylor's Chapel Cemetery near Somerville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center-West Chapel at Oakland. Mrs. Alexander was born November, 29, 1928 in Dancyville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents; David Simpson and Nancy Davis Simpson. She received her education in the Dancyville Public School System and lived most of her life in the Haywood and Fayette County areas. Mrs. Alexander was of the Methodist Faith. She was a Sewing Machine Operator for various companies throughout her life. She enjoyed sitting outside in the Sun and special times with her grandchildren. Mrs. Alexander will be remembered for her love of dancing. Mrs. Alexander is survived by four daughters; Betty Ann Scarbrough and Sarah Thompson of Memphis, Charlese Grandberry of Eads and Michelle Henley of Saulsbury, Tennessee, her son; Robert Burwell Alexander, III of Crockett Mills, Tennessee, five sisters: Nancy Jane Jackson of Memphis, Mary Ann Creasey of Sardis, Tennessee, Shirley Dawson of Troy, Tennessee, Annie Mae Creasey of Smyrna, Tennessee and Sue Williams of Chicago, Illinois, four brothers: Matthew Eli Simpson of Lexington, Tennessee, J. D. Simpson of Brownsville, Tennessee, Sam Simpson of Middleburg, Tennessee and Alvin Simpson of Lexington, Tennessee, 12 grand-children, 24 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her grandson, T. J. Hill and her ex-husband, R. B. Alexander, Jr. Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Bryan Kyzar, Nicholas Thompson, Greg Evans, Larry Barnes, Eugene Thompson, Tyler Boyles, Carson Whittiemore and Dee Grady. Honorary casket bearers were Timothy Thompson and Charles Thompson and the Family requests that Memorials be directed to the Church, Charity or Organization of the Donor's Choice. |
