OBITUARY
CATHERINE ANNIE BLACK CLAXTON ~ 1915 (Henry County, Tennessee)
Tuesday afternoon, at the family residence near India, Mrs. Annie Claxton, wife of Joe Claxton, Sr., died after a lingering illness of tuberculosis. She was 57 years of age and had for many years been a consistent Christian and a loyal member of the Methodist Church. She was a tender and loving mother and a kind friend and neighbor.
She is survived by her husband and 9 children, 5 girls and four boys and many relatives and friends who will miss her sadly from their midst.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E.W. Crump Wednesday from the family residence, in the presence of the sorrowing relatives and friends, who had gathered to pay the last tribute of (?) and respect to this good woman.
The remains were laid to rest in the Allman graveyard near India.
