| Mildred Dancy Duck Mildred Dancy Duck, 97, died in Atlanta on June 9, 2005 after a brief illness. She was born on Feb. 14, 1908 in Dancyville, Tennessee, to Isaac Bradley and Lena Hughes Dancy. Mrs. Duck, who had lived in Green Cove Springs since 1948, taught school at Charles E. Bennett Elementary, and was active in the VIA, Garden Club, United Methodist Women's Guild, Eastern Star, and volunteer hospital work. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Green Cove Springs. Mrs. Duck was preceded in death by her husband, A. D. Duck, who died on Feb. 3, 1988. She is survived by two daughters: Priscilla Stripling of Orlando and Betty Byrd of Atlanta; four grandchildren: Cindy Spivey, Sheri Stripling, Steve Stripling, and David Byrd; and two great granddaughters: Lauren and Sarah Spivey. A graveside service was held in Hickory Grove Cemetery on June 13 with Rev. Rick Douylliez officiating. Helm Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
