Mrs. Margaret T. Beard
Mrs. Margaret Trusty Beard, 88, longtime resident of the Dancyville Community, retired owner of the Stanton Furniture Store and wife of the late Donald Hamilton Beard, died Sunday, May 14, 2006, at the National Healthcare Center in Somerville.
Funeral services for Mrs. Beard were held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, May 16th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville, TN with interment in the Dancyville Methodist Church Cemetery. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Beard had been a resident of her community for over 70 years, an active member of the Dancyville United Methodist Church, the Dancyville Home Demonstration Club & the Parent Teachers Association in earlier years. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family, her church and her community.
Active pallbears were her grandchildren.
Mrs. Beard is survived by her children, Virginia Ann Walker and husband, June Walker Jr. of Somerville, Tommy Beard of Dothan, Ala; her sister, Faye Smith of West Memphis, AR; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the Dancyville United Methodist Church or to the Dancyville United Methodist Church Cemetery Association.
Mrs. Beard's oldest son, Buddy, preceded her in death and is buried in the cemetery next to his parents. He had cancer if I remember correctly. He was not mentioned in any obit. The officiating Minister was Rev. Tom Perkins. Casketbearers were: Don Beard, Mark Beard, Bill Walker, Bob Walker, Dan Walker and John Walker.
