OBITUARY

 

W.E.  BLACKWOOD   DIES  YESTERDAY ~ 1939 (Paris, Tennessee)

William Edward Blackwood, 70, timber buyer, died yesterday afternoon, at his home, 701 Depot Street.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church at 1:30 this afternoon, conducted by Rev. H.H. Stembridge, Jr., pastor. Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery with Spicer and McEvoy Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Blackwood is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Claxton Blackwood; one son, Roger Blackwood of Paris; two daughters, Nell Blackwood and Mrs. Dancy, both of Paris; and two brothers, Tobe and Henry Blackwood, both of Henry County; and two grandchildren.

Editor's addition: William's first wife was Ella N. (?), there were no children from this marriage.
The Mrs. Dancy in the obituary is: Beulah Beatrice 'Bibe' Blackwood Dancy.
