Dies at Daughter's Home

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 28 - Services for Isaac Bradley Dancy, retired funeral director
and church leader, will be held at the Dancyville Methodist Church at 2:30 Monday
afternoon. The Rev. Pittman Marbury, assisted by the Rev. H.H. Butts and the Rev. Fred
Peeples Will officiate.
Burial will be in the Dancyville Cemetery with Brownsville Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Dancy, who was 86, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.L. Cogbill of La Grange,
Tenn., at 6:45 a.m. Sunday. He was born at Dancyville,
which was founded by his grandparents. He was an active member of the Methodist Church and
served as superintendent of the Sunday School for
many years. He was also a teacher of a Bible Class.
He was a funeral director in the days of the horse drawn hearse, operating the Dancyville
Funeral Home. He was also a farmer for many years.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Cogbill and Mrs. A.D. Duck of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; four
sons, F.L. Dancy of Walsenburg, Colo., E.W.
Dancy of Pueblo, Colo., Malone Dancy of Brownsville and James Dancy of Dancyville; two
sisters, Mrs. Lillie Hendman of Kaufman, Texas and Mrs. Emma Watkins of Pickens, Miss.,
and a brother, James Dancy of Los Angeles.
