OBITUARY
FORMER DANCYVILLE RESIDENT ~ March 6, 2002
Mrs. Margie Ann Campbell Doyle, a resident of Oakland, TN and a person active for many years in the business community and religious activities of Fayette County, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis where she had been a patient for the past two weeks. She was 59 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 9, at Oakland First Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Meyer officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Kenneth Culver of Somerville and Rev. Eddie Martin of Dancyville. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.
Mrs. Doyle was born August 25, 1942 in the Fayette Corner Community, the daughter of Agnes Rogers Campbell and the late Frank J. Campbell. She attended schools in Dancyville and Somerville and was a graduate of the Haywood County High School at Brownsville in 1960.
She was married May 19, 1962, to Carl T. Doyle of Oakland, longtime Oakland business owner who formerly served as Mayor of Oakland and is currently serving as a Fayette County Commissioner. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle operated the C & M Foodmart in Oakland for over 23 years. Mrs. Doyle had also served as manager of the Oakland Apartments for over 10 years. She was a member of the Oakland First Baptist Church and served as a coach for the church softball league.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Doyle is survived by two daughters, Pam Doyle of Oakland and Cindy Doyle Inman of Bartlett; one son, Butch Doyle of Oakland; her mother, Agnes Rogers Campbell of Whiteville; one sister, Shirley Dickerson of Parsons; two brothers, J. R. Campbell and Ronnie Campbell both of Whiteville; and six grandchildren, Chap Griffith, Nikki Fletcher, Tyler Inman, Jonathan Inman, Bryce Doyle and Kara Doyle.
