OBITUARY
JOE CLAXTON DIES AT INDIA (Henry County, Tennessee)
November 24, 1932
Death claimed Joe Claxton, 78, retired farmer of the India community last Thursday night at 9:30 at the home of his son W.G. Claxton at India. Mr. Claxton had been in ill health for over a year and his death was not unexpected, although a shock to his many friends and acquaintances. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Church at India by Rev. Ed Etheridge. Burial was in the Allman Cemetery. Spicer and McEvoy were in charge of arrangments.
Mr. Claxton was a member of the Christian Church and is survived by one brother, John Claxton, of West Frankfort, Ill., four sons, R.W. and J.P. Claxton of Paris, W.G. of India and George Claxton of Routon. Five daughters also survive, Mrs. W.B. Henderson and Mrs. Pete Hudgins of India, Mrs. Lloyd Milstred of Fulton, KY., Mrs. Mary Blackwood and Mrs. Kate Myrick of Paris and a host of other relatives.
