Mrs. Ellen S. Logan

Mrs. Ellen Frances Shubert Logan, a resident of the Oakland Community & retired caregiver for the elderly, died at 9:05 P. M. Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis where she had been a patient since November 14th. She was 65 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Funeral services were conducted at 3 P. M. Saturday, December 23rd at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel near Oakland. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery at Oakland. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Logan was born September 20, 1941, in the Dancyville Community of Haywood County, the daughter of the late Lee Russell Shubert and the late Ester Gentry Shubert. Mrs. Logan was educated in Haywood County Schools and in earlier years, was employed by Somerville Manufacturing Company & Damar Lighting Corporation in Oakland. In recent years, she had served as caregiver to the elderly and those confined to home in the Fayette County area.

Mrs. Logan was a longtime member of the Dancyville Assembly of God Church where she remained active until her illness. She was a spiritual person who enjoyed family gatherings, sewing & caring for her pet bird, Rebel, and pet dog, Socks. She was a longtime resident of the Fayette and Haywood County areas.

Mrs. Logan is survived by her husband, Terry Michael Logan, her children, Bill Nelson of Oakland, Wendy Nelson, Terry Nelson & Jonnie Nelson, all of Bolivar; her sister Pauline Duncan of Somerville; two brothers, Leroy Shubert of Dancyville, Danny Shubert of Thomasville, North Carolina & 6 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two children, Karen Marie Nelson and Will Roger Nelson.

Casketbearers were Mark Freels, Jr., Jeremy Hawkins, Danny Logan, Jr., Joshua Nelson, Terry Nelson & Scotty Tice.

The family request that memorials be directed to the Dancyville Assembly of God Church.
