Kenneth Radford Smith ~ Jackson, Tennessee

Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Radford Smith, 62, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 10, 2006 in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Dr. Craig Christina officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery with Rev. Dan Bruce conducting committal services.

Mr. Smith died Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at his home.

He was born in Jackson, TN son of the late Eugene Martin and Pauline Loraine White Smith and was educated in the local schools. Mr. Smith was employed for 39 years in the water department of Jackson Energy Authority. He was a member of the Brittian Lane Battlefield Association, the John B. Ingram Camp (SCV), and the Parkers Crossroads Battlefield Association. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary Kay Dancy Smith of Jackson; a son, Kenneth Rhea "Ken" Smith of Jackson; a sister, Dorothy Ann "Dotty" Simmons and her children, Lisa Simmons and Lee Simmons and wife Julia; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Pallbearers to serve are Chuck Underwood, Steve Raper, Ted Bennett, John Matthews, Lee Simmons and Jim Weaver.

Honorary pallbearers are the employees of Jackson Energy Authority, the Brittian Lane Battlefield Association Members, the John B. Ingram Camp (SCV) members and the Parkers Crossroads Battlefield Association members.

The family requests memorials be directed to the Brittian Lane Battlefield Association, c/o Mrs. Sue Smith, 4707 Steam Mill Ferry Road, Medon, TN 38356, the American Cancer Society or Hospice of West Tennessee.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. today at the funeral home.
