OBITUARY
Clyde Waymon Claxton, 92,
of Paris died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2002, at Henry County Medical Center. Service
are set at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today. Duane Topinka and Jeremy Baseman will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Selected as pallbearers are Robert, Ray, and Billy Joe Adams, Andy Hooper, Frank Parker and David Alsup. Kevin Holland was named an honorary pallbearer. Born January 12, 1915, in Paris, he was the son of the late Joe P. and Maybelle Starling Claxton. He was married June 28, 1957, to the former Magdalene "Maggie" Lemons, who survives. Claxton retired after working 40 years with Coca-Cola Bottling Company, formerly of Paris. He also leaves two daughters: Carol Faye Claxton of Paris and Kathyjo (Ricky) Holland of Jackson. Three grandchildren: Penny, Molly and Kevin Holland; and a great grandchild: Haleigh Evelyn Holland. He also leaves three sisters: Sue Belle Adams and Marie Spoeery, both of Paris, and Mildred Caliquri of Livonia, Michigan. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Hettie Willoughby, Dorothy Storkweather and Evelyn Furita; and three brothers: Jerome, Porter and Joe Claxton.
