AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILY CEMETERIES
DANCYVILLE, TENNESSEE AREA
THOMAS FAMILY CEMETERY
Location: Roughly, 100 yards behind the
Dancyville United Methodist Church, on a hill. It is some what
between the Methodist Church and the C.M.E. Church. Not easy to reach if a person has
physical limitations.
We feel certain this is a Negro cemetery because one stone has the inscription,
"Dancyville Chapel CME Church."
Also because of the location and "old timers", in the area, remember Negro
funeral possessions going to this area.

Location: Roughly, 100 yards behind the Dancyville United
Methodist Church, on a hill. It is some what between the Methodist Church and the C.M.E.
Church. Not easy to reach if a person has physical limitations. We feel certain this is a
African American cemetery because of the location and "old timers", in the area,
remember Negro funeral possessions going to this area. Also, the death certificate of
Dave Archbell/Archable lists his race as Negro.
Note: This burial area is close to the Thomas Family Graves but further North and more on
top of the hill. It is also very close to the high chain link fence that encloses the
"Trials" property.
