I enjoy looking at the Dancyville web site, as my fathers' family was from
there and most of them are buried in the Presbyterian cemetery.

On business I drive from Memphis to Jackson about once every 2 weeks. If I have time I get
off I-40 to drive through Dancyville,
just to see the Methodist Church and Cemetery. I find the church soothing and relaxing,
just to look at...Today I noticed your web
address at the Cemetery gate. Thank you for this very informative site.

I really enjoyed touring this site, thanks to everyone who has helped to make it possible.
I attended school at the Dancyville
Elementary School which closed after I completed the 7th grade, which would have been
1969. I am the daughter of
Rev. Percy Coolidge Martin and Margaret Irene Duncan and the sister-in-law to Linda Lou
Dancy and aunt of Michael David Martin.
I was born in or near this community on Oct. 3, 1956, I currently live in Huntingdon,
Tennessee about 65 miles NE of Dancyville.

Hello. I just found your site on Stanton. It is very interesting. I was just there last
week for the Funeral Service of my sister, Mary Evelyn Rogers-Swain, who passed away on
August 18,2007. She was buried in the Dancyville Assembly of God Church Cemetery next to
her husband, Alfred Harold Swain. I will check back and see if there are any new things
added to your site. Many thanks to those who did the work in providing the info. here.
Thanks, Martha

Ms. Mary Smith;
In the RHEA data, there should be a correction. Rev.Joseph Rhea didn't explore the lands
along with his wife and family. He came with son, John,
the later Congressman, when he purchased the lands. They returned to Piney Creek,
Maryland, where he preached, and he sold his farm there.
He became ill in 1777 and died there in Maryland, never having lived in Sullivan County.
His wife and most of the family travelled to Tennessee
as son, Matthew, was with the Virginia Continental Army. This is my family , as well. The
web site is lovely.

So does this make me the mayor? I'm going to come on down to Dancyville
and claim my namesake. Will I get a portion of the taxes? Will I be
treated like royalty?

While browsing your site, I came across the obits of Mr. & Mrs. Utley my
uncle and aunt. Having had minimal contact with them for
a few years it was a bit of a shock to see the news. I want to thank you for keeping such
a treasure of info about Dancyville where I lived from 1963-71. Mary Kay might remember me
from those days.
Thanks again.

I am descended from John Dansey of Wormingford and Wanstead, Essex, England. He was my
great great grandfather. My great grandfather was Frederick Dansey, my grandfather was
George Saunders Dansey and my father is Lesie George Dansey. I am interested in particular
in the Dansey/Dansie families of London, Essex and Suffolk. I am also interested in other
families with similar surnames. I have produced 16 editions of a family bulletin so far. I
can send copies to whoever is interested.

Hi,
I looked at this site a few years ago, but now it is really filled with information. I
appreciate seeing the photos; I've actually never seen a photo of my great-grandfather
Isaac Bradley until today. THANKS!
BTW, there is no Allen Cogbill III [one of the photo captions refers to Allen Cogbill III,
which I assume is I). There is only my father (Allen Cogbill) and I (Allen Cogbill, Jr).
My son is named Andre.
