I was rich and could restore the town.
My grandfather, Robert Dancy

My husband's ggg-grandfather is suppose to be Hugh James Kerr b.
about. 1780's in York Co., S.C.
He married Nancy Gladney
from SC. I have been unable to find anything on Hugh
James except 1800,1810,1820 census in York, S.C., then he moved to
St. Clair, Ala. for 1850 census, then to Chulio, Floyd Co., Ga. for 1860 census,
then 1870 census in Cedartown, Polk, Co. Ga.
Is your Hugh Kerr the same as my husband's ggg-gf? Any information
you could share with me would be appreciated. Thanks

My mother (maiden name: White) was born in Paris, TN. Her family lived in
Dyersburg area since the early 1800s.
My grandfather (Andrew Harvey, Sr.) was from Yum Yum, TN and his relatives lived
in Somerville. Some still
live there. I've been looking for history of Harvey
family in west Tennessee. Ancestors moved there from Virginia in mid-1800s.

Your interesting website includes a piece entitled "The Dancy Family"
written by Fenton M. Dancy in 1961 and revised in 2001.
Please would you
be kind enough to put the author(s) in touch with me. Some friends and I
are compiling a definitive history
of this family. Thank you in advance.

Hi Jim and Mary Kay,
Please do not show my e-mail address in the comments page but I wanted you both to know
how wonderful the web site is and that
I appreciate all of your efforts to contribute to it. I haven't had an opportunity lately
to visit it but am very impressed with what you
have done. THANK YOU. If I get an opportunity, I will try to send any other related
pictures we may have here when I am able to
scan them and send. Jim and Mary Kay, could you please send me your direct e-mail
addresses once again? I have had computer
work done and lost most of my addresses I had stored, including yours.
